MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - Former Clarkdale High School softball coach, Rick Roberson has been charged with three sex-related crimes.
Roberson was booked Thursday at the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office on two counts of lustful touching of a minor and a statutory rape charge dating back to 1984. His bond was set at $20,000. Roberson posted bond and was released.
Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says an investigation continues.
The 59-year-old Roberson was fired this week. He had coached softball since 1993.
Authorities say Roberson allegedly had inappropriate contact with a 10th grade student in 2010 that continued into the 11th grade and made inappropriate comments to a ninth grade student. An affidavit alleges that in 1984 Roberson had sexual intercourse numerous times with another high school girl who became pregnant.
