JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - A Madison County grand jury has indicted a former sheriff of Henderson County after shots were fired at his estranged wife outside a bar.
According to The Jackson Sun (http://bit.ly/PK8AfM ), 52-year-old Ricky Lunsford faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, employing a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault. Lunsford remains free on $200,000 bond.
Investigators said earlier that Lunsford forced his wife, Mary Lunsford, to leave a bar with him at gunpoint on April 29. She broke free and police said Ricky Lunsford fired several shots as Mary Lunsford ducked between cars in the parking lot. She was not injured.
A Jackson Police Department report stated several cars were damaged by gunshots.
