EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A restored World War II troop landing ship is on its way to its Indiana home port after being freed from a western Kentucky lake where it ran aground.

The LST-325 got out of the Lake Barkley mud Wednesday evening after what ship Capt. Bob Jornlin says was a combination of pushing and pulling by a tug boat, the ship's anchor winch and its engines in full reverse.

Jornlin tells the Evansville Courier & Press (http://bit.ly/PRPuob ) the ship should arrive at its Ohio River dock Thursday night.

The ship became stuck with 42 crew members aboard Monday during a rainstorm when officials say it traveled outside the lake's Cumberland River channel. It was returning to its Evansville dock after a trip to the Tennessee cities of Nashville and Clarksville.
