Delta woman dies in auto accident

WOODVILLE, Miss. (AP) - A 44-year-old Greenville woman died of injuries sustained after her vehicle veered off U.S. Highway 61 and flipped.

Sgt. Rusty Boyd of the Mississippi Highway Patrol tells the Enterprise-Journal (http://bit.ly/OhBGGf ) troopers responded around 8 p.m. Friday to the single-car wreck near Wilkinson County Christian Academy.

Boyd says Lorie A. Patrick was driving south when the vehicle left the road on the right hand side and overturned several times. Twenty-4-year-old Trent M. Collette, of Fordoche, La., was a passenger in the vehicle.

Colette received treatment for minor injuries at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Patrick was pronounced dead on the scene.
