Memphis police detectives are aggressively searching for a 19-year-old man who was captured in surveillance footage snatching a young Shih Tzu puppy from inside a car.
The incident took place Sept. 29, police said.
Kiunte Johnson was spotted breaking into a car and stealing the Shih Tzu. He then left a Hickory Hill Walmart parking lot in a white car.
The Shih Tzu puppy was returned to its rightful owner three days later after police investigated its disappearance.
Police want to bring Johnson in. An arrest warrant has been issued for burglary to wit auto and theft of property over $500.
Additional arrests might be made, police said.
