MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Police in Memphis have charged a man in the strangulation death of his mother, whose body was found in her burning home.
According to The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/Ttimbb ), Estelle Carron had taught English at a private school in Memphis for two decades before moving to New Orleans earlier this year. She had returned to Memphis for a weekend visit when her home was found in flames on Sunday. Firefighters found her body inside.
Police arrested 22-year-old Alexandre A. Kim on Tuesday, charging him with first-degree murder.
Brad Kroeker, who identified himself as Carron's companion, told the newspaper she was selling her home in Memphis and wanted to make certain her son had a place to live.
