Mayor Davis asks judge $96K back from state
JACKSON, Miss. (FOX13) -

Southaven Mayor Greg Davis has asked a judge to return to him the $96,000 he paid to the state amid allegations of misspending city money.

Last week, Mayor Davis filed a motion in Hinds County Chancery Court, where he is locked in a dispute with Mississippi State Auditor Stacey Pickering over repayment of the funds.

In his motion, Southaven's mayor said the auditor's office made the demand for repayment without conducting an audit.

Davis has not been charged with a crime.
