JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Police say a man was killed in a hit and run accident in Jackson.

WLBT TV reports (http://bit.ly/ROp5Ii) the accident happened on U.S. Highway 80 around 2:45 a.m. Sunday

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart says the unidentified man, in his mid-40's, died of blunt force trauma after being hit by a vehicle.

Jackson police have not provided any details about the incident.

The victim's next of kin has not been notified.
