FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The recent homicides of 6 people along the Tennessee-Alabama state line have brought back fear and bad memories of similar violent slayings that occurred just three years ago near the quiet town of Fayetteville, Tenn.
Three women and a toddler were found slain Monday in rural Lincoln County, Tennessee. Their deaths have been linked to the slayings of 2 men whose bodies were found Tuesday in Alabama.
In July 2009, a woman, two teenagers, and two others were stabbed to death in the same county, while another man was beaten to death in Alabama. Jacob Shaffer was sentenced to life in prison for the old Tennessee slayings. He is slated to be tried for the 2009 Alabama homicide.
No one has been arrested or charged in the most recent killings.
