Law enforcement agents have arrested Rodney Shelton Fulgham, 23, in connection to the death of Shelby Harmon, 20, who was struck and killed while walking on Highway 61 just south of Cleveland, Mississippi, on Oct. 20.
Fulgham is charged with vehicular homicide and is being held at the Bolivar County Jail. The charge results from an investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, the Bolivar County Sheriff's Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Initial police reports indicate Shelby Harmon, 20, was hit by a truck driven by her boyfriend and then hit again by two other cars on the highway. Family and friends say the scene started at Shelby and her boyfriend's house where the two were involved in an argument that led Shelby to run and her boyfriend to chase her in his truck.
On the Facebook page, Justice for Shelby, Harmon's mother Angela Harmon posted regarding Fulgham's arrest, "This will not bring my precious child back, but it will prevent him from harming another person! Thank You ALL for your prayers and help in pushing this forward."
