NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a man was airlifted from Adams County to a Louisiana hospital after a farming machinery accident.
Deputies responded Tuesday to a 911 call about a man trapped in a hay baler.
When deputies arrived, they found Greg Jackson standing on the wheels of the hay baler with his left hand trapped in the machinery.
Deputies say emergency responders were able to cut a belt on the baler and open a bar on the machine to free the victim, who was transported by helicopter to Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.
The victim's wife told The Natchez Democrat (http://bit.ly/SdPNKC) Jackson had undergone surgery on his hand and Wednesday surgeons would be grafting skin from his stomach to cover the affected area.
