Man wanted in Baxter County found in Blytheville

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (AP) - Baxter County authorities say a man wanted for allegedly leading police on a chase that ended in a crash involving the suspect's car and a police car has been found.

Sheriff John Montgomery says 39-year-old Africa Wells of Jonesboro was found and arrested Thursday in Blytheville - nearly 180 miles east of where the crash occurred in Mountain Home on Wednesday.

It was not clear how Wells is believed to have made his way to Blytheville.

Montgomery says Wells is believed to be the driver of a car that led a Highland police officer on a chase that ended in Mountain Home when both the car and the police car crashed and the suspect fled on foot.

Montgomery says there were no serious injuries resulting from the crash.
