MARKED TREE, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is asking a Poinsett County circuit judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed by duck hunters who want to block the agency from forcing them to remove permanent duck blinds on public land.
Circuit Judge Randy Philhours presided at a Friday hearing and is to rule at a later - undetermined date - on the commission's request to dismiss the lawsuit.
Hunters opposed to the commission's policy of removing the permanent blinds formed a group called the St. Francis Lake Association. Jonesboro television station KAIT reports (http://is.gd/1ssJG7 ) that the group wants to keep blinds in several wildlife areas, including the St. Francis Sunken Lands in northeastern Arkansas.
