Even though many New Jerseyans and New Yorkers are still powerless and dealing with the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy they're planning on heading to the polls.

Hoboken, N.J., Mayor Dawn Zimmer says polling places will be open although the city has had to relocate some. They're working on telling residents where to go. If they don't have power they'll make other arrangements.

Volunteers in a dark Hoboken City Hall were informing residents how they can cast an early ballot.

In Jersey City, the Hudson County Clerk's office was open Sunday morning by order of Gov. Chris Christie. A steady stream of voters lined up to request vote by mail ballots that they could fill out and drop off with the election commission.

The clerk's office was buzzing with activity with staffers racing to process vote by mail applications.

The state is also allowing New Jerseyans to vote by email if they had to leave their homes after the storm.
