HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - A suspect wanted by police in Hattiesburg, Miss., on a murder charge has been arrested in Lorain, Ohio.
The Hattiesburg American reports (http://hatne.ws/Q1lN8V ) 37-year-old Tamira Peoples was arrested without incident at around 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Police say her 3-year-old son was with her.
Investigators secured an arrest warrant for Peoples following a Monday shooting that left a Hattiesburg woman dead and her mother hospitalized with non-life threatening wounds.
Lorain Police Department Lt. Roger Watkins said a firearm was recovered from the vehicle, which was seized in Lorain.
Peoples is charged with murder and aggravated assault. She allegedly shot 22-year-old Samina Gholar as she stood in the doorway of her apartment and also wounded Gholar's mother.
