Cellist tapes message for Hattiesburg students

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - When Hattiesburg Public School District strings teacher Jorge (HOR' heh) Gonzalez returned from a trip to perform with the Mobile Symphony Orchestra, he brought back a special gift for his students: a video-taped message from world-famous cello player Yo-Yo Ma.

Gonzalez and the rest of the Mobile symphony musicians were appearing with the cellist in October.

On the night of the performance, Gonzalez met Yo-Yo Ma backstage and taped the message.

Gonzalez told The Hattiesburg American (http://hatne.ws/RSvC5T ) that the cellist told the students that what they are doing is not something that everybody can do, and that every note they play should come from deep inside them.
