For years, the Memphis Area Transit Authority's Greenline route into West Memphis, Ark., used Southland Park's property as a bus stop.

That's where many of the riders enjoyed Southland Park's gaming and racing.

Changes to the route have lead many seniors to a mile walk, on a dangerous busy roadway.

It's their new bus stop.

You won't find a sidewalk or shoulder, only a dangerous roadway alongside Interstate 40. Most of the Southland bus riders are senior citizens, who now walk a mile stretch to Southland Park's gaming and racing.

FOX13's calls to the city  of West Memphis were not returned.

Southland Park President Troy Keeping said the city plans to meet with MATA in the coming week. Keeping says handicap passengers can take a different route, which allows them to still be dropped off on Southland Park's property.

The MATA contract with the city of West Memphis expires in June 2013.
