The Shelby Co. Unified School Board continued a discussion of recommendations by the Transition Planning Commission Thursday evening.
On the agenda, 36 items including the possible closure of schools.
After five hours of discussions, 10 items remained unresolved, including the possible closures.
School Board Chairman Billy Orgel says the body probably won't take up the school closure issue until after the Thanksgiving holiday.
Even though the School Board didn't take up the school closure issue, many were on hand to oppose closing the 21 schools.
In June, the Transition Planning Commission approved its report to the Unified District. The report addresses 172 items including closing six schools in the Northwest region of the district and 14 schools in the Southwest region.
