Flu-like illnesses are striking hard at some Tennessee public schools.
WSMV-TV reported Tuesday the Clay County schools near the Kentucky border, northeast of Nashville announced they would close for the rest of the week to break the chain of infection among students and teachers.
Last week, the Stewart County and Macon County schools took similar steps after high rates of absenteeism caused by flu-like illness.
