Shelby County, Tn -

Six masked robbers used duct tape to hold a Shelby County couple hostage. The men broke into a couple's home on Buttermilk Drive on Saturday, then stole their van.

The van was recovered by Memphis Police on Sunday. Deputies are hoping the vehicle could produce evidence that leads to an arrest.

"When we arrived on scene, found one of the victims staggering outside, had been wounded by one of the six individuals he said broke into the home," says Chip Washington with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

The husband told deputies the men pointed guns and demanded money, after the pair walked in on the robbery.  The couple was assaulted, but suffered minor injuries.

While the Sheriff's Office couldn't say whether the couple knew the robbers, they do say they need the public to step up.

"We always seek help, often times someone sees someone knows someone, if they hear a story, might be related someone they know," says Washington.

After the robbers left, the wife cut herself free and ran to the neighbor's house to call for help. The Sheriff's Office says the masked men took off with a TV set and a few other items.

If you know anything about this case, call the Sheriff's Office Detective Unit at 901-222-5600.
