A Tupelo man has been sentenced to more than 12 years on two counts related to the robbery of a Tupelo bank.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports that 25-year-old Cory Juwan Baker of Tupelo pleaded guilty to bank robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

He was sentenced Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock.

Baker also was ordered to pay $5,322 restitution.

Baker was indicted on three counts in October 2011 in connection with a Sept. 9, 2011, armed robbery of M&F Bank.

He pleaded guilty Aug. 17 to the two counts. The government dropped the third count in exchange for his guilty plea.
