For the first time since the shooting death of Memphis police officer Martoiya Lang the two men inside the house where she had tried to serve a narcotics search warrant will appear in the same courtroom.
Willie Braddock, 26, was scheduled to appear in court before General Sessions Judge Tim Dwyer, but the judge told Braddock his hearing has been switched to Thursday morning and to the same courtroom Treveno Campbell, 21, will be appearing in.
"(Braddock's) case was set today for Division 8 and it's been reset till tomorrow to match his drugs case with Treveno Campbell's homicide case, which will be in Division 11," said Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich, who is personally handling Campbell's case. "So, since both of these cases arose from the same set of facts, although both of these defendants are charged with different things, it makes sense in terms of judicial economy to get them in the same courtroom."
