Forrest Co. man pleads guilty to sexual battery

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - A Forrest County man has pleaded guilty to sexual battery in Forrest County Circuit Court and received a suspended sentence.

The Hattiesburg American reports (http://hatne.ws/Sx54eY) 29-year-old Sam Joseph Richey Jr. was arrested in September 2011 and charged with one count of sexual battery of a child under the age of 14 and one count of touching of a child for lustful purposes - a charge commonly referred to as fondling. He bonded out of jail two days later.

Circuit Judge Bob Helfrich ordered that Richey must have no contact with the victim, complete 300 hours of community service and register as a sex offender.
