Memphis police say they arrested a man that dragged an officer over the weekend.

Officers were trying to arrest say Irvin Guy on Sunday in Frayser after a woman claimed someone tried to steal her purse. They say while they were investigating, Guy drove up in a vehicle but refused to cooperate.

When they tried to arrest Guy, he sped off in reverse with an officer still hanging on.

Guy was arrested on Monday and charged with criminal attempted second degree murder, theft, and vandalism. He's being held in the Shelby County Jail without bond.
