It's March so are you still keeping that New Year's Resolution to exercise and diet?
If not, here is a new diet that is
sweeping the country and it could be the one that works for you.
Dr. Ian Smith is making the rounds at TV stations all over the country promoting his best-selling book "Shred". It's a diet book that he claims gives permanent results and you can lose 4 inches, 2 sizes in 6 weeks.

TV personality Steve Harvey
is on it and he's lost 14 lbs. in six weeks.
It's all about watching what you eat and how often you eat.
Dr. Smith says, "people
can eat right inexpensive food you have to eat 4 times a day. You get 3 snack
options. By eating every 3-4 hours you keep metabolism revved very high but you
also keep hormone levels stable. It is
the hormone stability in the Shred Program that helps people lose a lot of
weight."
Dr. Smith's book goes into
great detail about what you can eat and when and there is plenty to eat and you
eat often. There are a lot of details
and to pull it off you have to plan your meals in advance. But people who are on the shred diet do lose
weight by following the diet and exercising.
In fact, the Shred Diet is
much like the nutrition and exercise program promoted at the Church Health Center.
"For me it's keeping
it simple here at the Church Health Center, they keep it very simple. They'd actually take a picture of what you
should eat. This would work well for me.
Here's your protein, here's your starch
and here's your green leafy vegetable over here a; piece of fruit and tea no sugar.
That's important."
Brook Hall says, "Make
half your plate vegetables. I would tell
someone non-starchy veggies. If that's too complicated just say veggies. A 4th of the plate is starch that would be a
roll or your potatoes, rice and a 4th of the plate protein so that's pretty
simple principal.
"At my age I'm not too
worried about it. Well you're out here
doing something every day that's important, but I like the sweets especially
the chocolate ha ha…," says Lloyd Hern.
Renardo Ward says, "my
easiest and quickest solution right now is to run by Easy Way, grab an apple and wash it off they are really
nice at easy way."
Xavier Rand says, "start
off with a little walking and as you progress with that you can move on to some
of the machines but you have to start
off with a slow pace you can't go at it hard."
Another point made by Dr. Smith and the folks at the Church Health Center agree on is healthy living. It is not a quick fix, it is a life style and you never finish you just get to keep doing it longer if you do it right.
