Mitsubishi is looking to hire close to 300 workers for its new Memphis plant.
The $200 million, 350,000 square foot transformer factory is a pretty big deal because it's the headquarters for heavy electrical equipment production in North America.
"The jobs are high value jobs, competitive pay," Human Resources Manager Lisa Terry. "We've got great benefits to offer. We've got a great facility here with a lot of good amenities."
Terry is referring to amenities like an on-site cafe and a gym with a professional trainer on hand.
Kevin Tummins has been working at the plant for about seven months. His training took him all the way to Japan. He's a coil group assembly tech and he admits, it's a challenging job.
"I've always been attracted to challenges and this seems to be the biggest one in my career, training new employees, the cultural differences we deal with is amazing," he says.
"We're investing a ton of money in Memphis said Production Manager Jeff Bacue. "We're here to stay. It's a very stable industry, very solid reputation."
