Memphis in May officials are delaying the opening to the second day of the Beale Street Music
Memphis in May officials are delaying the opening to the second day of the Beale Street Music Festival due to weather. A line of thunderstorms dissipated over the Memphis area earlier this morning and resulted in a wake low, which produced localized high winds. These winds caused damage to some smaller structures and require work to repair in order to present the best fan experience. Memphis in May’s contracted meteorologist does not anticipate any further weather threats today. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m. and music will begin at 4:00 p.m. Unfortunately, the festival will cancel 4 acts to keep the rest of today’s lineup on schedule. Escondido, Amasa Hines, Will Tucker and Duwayne Burnside will not be performing today.
