Tears, hugs, smiles, and a pouring of emotion filled Central High School Friday night in Bolivar.

Central High's boys varsity basketball team helped create the very memorable night.

The players nominated 19-year-old senior Kara Marcum for homecoming queen, one of the school's special needs students.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says this flu season is near epidemic levels: Cases are being reported in 47 states, up from 41 states last week. On the same note, they're also saying number of cases in the south is tapering off.

FRAYSER, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Memphis police are searching for the person or persons who fatally shot a 62-year-old woman in a residential driveway Friday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Burnham Cove in Frayser at 9 a.m.

The victim, found lying on the ground next to her vehicle, was pronounced deceased by police.
