Accumulating snow could fall across the Southeast

ATLANTA (AP) - The National Weather Service says snow is falling in central Mississippi as the Southeast braces for the possibility of accumulating snow after days of soaking rains.

Meteorologist Alan Campbell in Jackson says the heaviest snow activity Thursday in Mississippi is along the Interstate 55 corridor.

Snow falling across Central Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The National Weather Service says snow is falling over much of Central Mississippi with 2 to 4 inches expected by midmorning Thursday.

Meteorologist Alan Campbell in Jackson says the heaviest activity is along the Interstate 55 corridor from Grenada in the north to Crystal Springs south of Jackson.

U.S. Marshals from Detroit are in Memphis searching for Corey Gaston, a fugitive accused of raping a 10-year-old girl in 2007 and left town a year later before his trial.

Detroit police say in 2007 Gaston climbed into a little girl's bedroom, took her out the window and into an alley, and then sexually assaulted her.
