Council defends Armstrong over Blue Crush, blames mayor
EAST MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Embattled Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong was prepared to make a spirited defense against charges he had cut back on the vaunted crime fighting program Blue Crush.

But instead of grilling him, council members jumped to Armstrong's defense and placed the blame on the shoulders of Mayor A C Wharton.

CROSS COUNTY, Ark. (FOX13) -

Cross County, Ark., Sheriff J.R. Smith has confirmed they have found Shelia Karow's body.

Ms. Karow and her husband, David, both of Monticello, were pulled over Saturday evening at an Exxon gas station on Arkansas Highway 1 in Cherry Valley.

David Karow was arrested on outstanding warrants from another county.

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Five people have been transported to hospitals after their car crashed in the eastbound lanes of I-40 in Haywood County Tuesday afternoon.

The single-car crash took place just after 2:45 p.m. at the 44 mile marker in Haywood County near the town of Brownsville.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Authorities have identified a badly burned body found last month along a highway in Phillips County.

The Helena Daily World reports that medical examiners identified the victim as Elliot Bennett of Helena-West Helena.
