Gov. worries $500 million for Port in danger

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Gov. Phil Bryant says he wants quicker action on issues stalling development at the Port of Gulfport.

Bryant says the project needs to move forward and produces 1,200 new jobs in order for officials to avoid the chance of losing $500 million in federal money.

DMR taking bids to tear down boat storage shed

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - The state Department of Marine Resources is going to tear down and remove the large boat storage shed it owns in Ocean Springs Harbor.

Nonprofit chief in Tipton Co. charged with theft

COVINGTON, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says it has arrested the administrator of a nonprofit organization in Tipton County on theft charges.

The TBI says 57-year-old Allen Parnelle Brown was arrested Wednesday on charges of theft over $1,000 and theft over $10,000. Brown is the administrator of the Tipton Cares nonprofit
