Wharton makes final push for sales tax hike
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Mayor A C Wharton spoke out in support of the sales tax referendum a day before the election.

Monday afternoon, Wharton held a news conference in support of the referendum.  Also in favor of raising the sales tax a half cent were city and state leaders, and several local organizations.

Arkansas early voting tally: 439,262

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansans have turned out by the hundreds of thousands to vote early in the presidential election.

Secretary of State Mark Martin's office said Monday that a total of 439,262 people cast ballots through the close of early voting polling places.

Martin's office says 33,022 people cast early ballots on Monday.
