Biloxi council adopts redistricting plan

BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Some Biloxi residents expressed concern on the redistricting of the ward lines at a special City Council meeting.

The council was faced with the decision to adopt 1 of the three proposed redistricting maps.

Ark. cooperatives sending workers to East Coast

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Repair crews with Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. are on the nation's East Coast to help restore power following a strong storm that hit the region.

Okla. Comm. Murphy named to power pool committee

Baptist, Vanderbilt collaborate on cancer care

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Two major hospitals in Tennessee have teamed up to fight cancer in a collaboration that will allow doctors in Memphis and Nashville to pool resources and share research.

Andersonville to begin subscription fire service

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A volunteer fire department in Anderson County says due to a lack of funds, it will be converting to a subscription-based operation starting next year.

The Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department serves 9,000 residents in a 68-square-mile area that is about 20 miles northwest of Knoxville, close to the Norris Dam State Park.
