Well that’s one way to avoid the awkward breakup conversation.

And it looks like it worked this time as Jason Trawick went to Britney Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, first to discuss ending their engagement.

Considering Jamie is one of her co-conservators, maybe everything has to go through him??

Or maybe Jason is too chicken it’s just too hard to talk to Britney about something so serious.

That seems to be Jason's defense as he wasn’t sure how to break such serious news to the pop star, so he called Daddy Spears in for backup. A source revealed:

“Jason wanted out, and in the fragile state that Britney is in, it’s not like he could have a rational conversation with her about it, so it was really between him and Jamie. They decided how the relationship needed to end and how to go about the technicalities, such as removing Jason from the conservatorship, when he would move out and how to announce the split.”

There’s nothing like everyone else deciding how your breakup will go!

Unfortunately, it sounds like Brit Brit still isn’t fully understanding the sitch.

See, this is why when you dump someone, you need to actually dump them!

The source close to the former couple added:

“Jason and Jamie wanted to make sure that Britney didn’t lose it, so they had to water things down for her a bit. She knows that the engagement is off and that Jason has been removed from the conservatorship, but she still hasn’t exactly grasped yet that the relationship is totally over.”

Aww, poor gurl!

We hope she knows it’s time to move on because bigger and better things are on the horizon…like a guy who can actually have a breakup convo with you.

Brit, you’ll be fine without him!
