The Arkansas Department of Health says reports of influenza are growing more widespread throughout the state.

The department says the state has recorded seven influenza deaths this season and that reports of infections and hospitalizations are coming in from all regions of the state.

Men charged in alleged Ark. hazing plead guilty

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Four men charged with battery in a suspected hazing incident at Arkansas Tech University have pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

The men pleaded guilty Monday to a misdemeanor charge of violation of hazing. The Russellville Courier reports (http://is.gd/uVfOu9 ) Judge William Pearson sentenced them to 90 days of probation.

Driver escapes serious injury when train hits car

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A train hit a car at a Knoxville grade crossing, but knocked it clear and the driver wasn't seriously hurt.

WBIR-TV (http://on.wbir.com/WIqnpr ) reported the incident occurred early Tuesday in the western part of the city when a Norfolk Southern train struck a Honda Accord.
