ST. MARTIN, Miss. (AP) - An insurance agent has been accused of failing to send customers' insurance payments to insurers.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd said in a press release received by The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/Y5eJIX ) that 35-year-old Chad Michael Davis of St. Martin was arrested Tuesday.

Gov. Beebe to proclaim November as soybean month

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Gov. Mike Beebe is to proclaim November as Arkansas Soybean Month.

Beebe is to make the proclamation Thursday at the state Capitol.

Ark. court to hear arguments in 2009 murder case

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Supreme Court is slated to hear the appeal of a man convicted in the 2009 shooting deaths of 5 people.

Samuel Lee Conway's lawyers say he deserves another trial in part because of alleged problems with the jury in his original trial. Conway's lawyers will make their case to the state's high court on Thursday.

Report on Midwest, Plains states expected Thursday

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A monthly economic index report suggests an economic slump over the next three to six months for nine Midwest and Plains states.

The Mid-America Business Conditions index dropped to 46.5 last month from 50.4 in September.
