Kelly Clarkson’s television talk show has limited her ability to tour in recent years.
The 43-year-old pop sensation has been the host of The Kelly Clarkson Show since 2019, and she recently revealed that the show has affected her music career.
During a rare performance in Atlantic City, Kelly shared with her fans: “We haven’t done a show in a while, y’all, ’cause I have a talk show. It’s like a whole other job.”
The Grammy-winning artist truly enjoyed performing at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena. However, Kelly confessed that her busy schedule with the talk show and family commitments has made it challenging for her to go on tour.
The ‘Since U Been Gone’ hitmaker, who shares two children—Remington, nine, and River, ten—with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, expressed her disappointment, stating: “We are bummed because we love performing, and fitting it into our schedules can be challenging. It’s wonderful when it all aligns, and getting to see your faces and draw energy from you is amazing. Thank you all for your enthusiasm.”
In a recent revelation, Kelly emphasized her commitment to raising her children instead of seeking romantic relationships.
The pop star, who was married to Brandon from 2013 to 2022, asserted that her kids take precedence in her life, leaving her little time for dating.
During an appearance on ‘Today with Jenna and Friends,’ Kelly shared: “I’m rushing from my show to baseball practice, trying to be present for them. It’s overwhelming at times. My mom often reminds me, ‘As a single mom, I couldn’t do it all. They’ll be fine. You turned out just fine.’”
Nonetheless, Kelly remains excited about her upcoming performances, including two shows in Atlantic City over the weekend.
The singer – who rose to fame as the inaugural winner of ‘American Idol’ in 2002 – said: “I am just trying to be there as much for them [as possible] and we’re a cute little unit. I am trying to adult more.
“So for Mother’s Day weekend I do have a couple shows, but my kids aren’t coming. So I do get to be an adult with my band having drinks and having adult time.”
