Costco has announced a recall of over 3,300 pounds of Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke sold under its Kirkland Signature brand due to possible Listeria contamination. This recall was initiated by Western United Fish Company, also known as Annasea Foods Group, after their green onion supplier reported a positive test result for Listeria monocytogenes on September 17.

The impacted product, packaged in transparent plastic clamshell containers, was sold in the deli section of Costco Warehouse stores across more than 30 states. It bears the item number 17193, with a pack date of September 18, 2025, and a sell-by date of September 22, 2025. The recall was issued in coordination with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Listeria monocytogenes can lead to listeriosis, a serious infection that poses considerable health risks, especially for older adults, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea. In severe cases, this can result in more serious complications, including death.

Western United Fish Company is working with its green onion supplier to determine the source of the contamination. Customers who have purchased the affected product are urged to discard it and visit Costco for a refund.

For additional information, consumers can reach out to Annasea Foods Group at 425-558-7809 or via email at [email protected]. Anyone experiencing symptoms after consuming the product should seek medical assistance.

The FDA stresses the importance of individuals in high-risk groups seeking medical care if they experience flu-like symptoms within two months of consuming contaminated food.
