Jelly Roll is set to bring his expertise to the judging panel of the highly anticipated return of Star Search. The five-week live talent competition premieres on Netflix on January 20, 2026.
Joining Jelly Roll are Golden Globe-nominated actor Sarah Michelle Gellar and television personality Chrissy Teigen, forming a star-studded judging lineup for the reboot.
Hosted by Anthony Anderson, new episodes will air live twice weekly, showcasing performers across comedy, dance, magic, music, and variety. Fans can participate with real-time voting, influencing weekly eliminations.
Chrissy Teigen expressed her excitement on Instagram, writing:
“Holy s**t, this is big, and I am so so excited. What kind of judge am I going to be? I have no idea. I have no plan. All I know is I cannot wait to see the talent this brings.”
Anthony Anderson added to Tudum:

Originally launching in 1983, Star Search has a legacy of discovering stars like Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Dave Chappelle, Adam Sandler, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake.
