Back in April, a girl from Ohio named Madeline asked her musician neighbour to perform one of Taylor’s songs while he played guitar and sang in his garden.

However, the youngster made the request in a unique and adorable way — by sending the message via a paper aeroplane thrown over the fence into her neighbour’s garden.

Her neighbour, 26-year-old Ethan Hayes, received the sweet note and responded by performing Taylor’s 2008 hit Love Story while Madeline’s mother captured the wholesome interaction on video.

After the clip was uploaded to TikTok, it quickly exploded online, earning nearly four million views. One of those viewers happened to be Taylor herself.

In response to the touching moment, the Bad Blood singer sent Madeline a signed guitar along with a heartfelt handwritten letter. Ethan also received a guitar from the Grammy-winning artist.

According to People, Taylor told Madeline the video brought the “biggest smile” to her face.

“I just wanted to let you know that it made me so happy that you asked your neighbour to play my song for you. You brought the biggest smile to my face!”

The Cruel Summer hitmaker added:

“I’m sending you your own guitar in case you ever want to learn too! Thanks again! And sending you my love.”

Speaking to People, Ethan revealed that Taylor’s team personally contacted him after the video gained traction online.

“They’re like, ‘Hey, Taylor saw your video. We want to send you something. Don’t tell anyone until it gets there,’” he explained. “I was expecting maybe a signed poster or something. And then she sent us guitars, which is insane.”

The touching gesture has earned Taylor even more praise from fans online, with many calling the moment a perfect example of the singer’s connection with her supporters.
