Matthew Perry’s Story Comes to Netflix
Fans of Friends will get a closer look at Matthew Perry’s life when The One About Matthew Perry premieres on Netflix on October 27, 2026.
The new three-part documentary series explores Perry’s life and career, from his rise to fame as Chandler Bing on Friends to the personal struggles he faced away from the spotlight.
The series features interviews with people who knew Perry personally, including his sister, Mia Perry Bowick, along with lifelong friends and creative collaborators. It will also include previously unreleased photos and videos from the Perry family’s private archive.
Perry became one of television’s biggest stars during Friends’ original run from 1994 to 2004, appearing in all 236 episodes as the sarcastic and quick-witted Chandler Bing. His death in October 2023 at age 54 brought renewed attention to both his career and his longtime advocacy surrounding addiction and recovery.
Directed by Emmy winner Mary Robertson, the documentary looks beyond the Chandler Bing character to explore the person his family and friends knew off-screen.
The One About Matthew Perry premieres October 27, 2026, exclusively on Netflix.
