Zara Larsson has admitted she hit the stage after consuming edibles—an experience she says convinced her never to do it again.
During a recent appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, the 28-year-old Swedish pop star revealed she took edibles twice while serving as the opening act on Tate McRae’s Miss Possessive tour. While she managed to pull it off, she isn’t looking for a repeat performance.
“It went really well… but having done it, I don’t think I’m gonna do that again,” Larsson admitted. “I don’t understand people who smoke crazy and do a show.”

Addressing the Opening Act Backlash
Beyond her pre-show habits, Larsson also tackled the online chatter surrounding her role on the tour. Some fans expressed frustration that a seasoned star like Larsson was supporting a newer artist rather than headlining arenas herself.
Larsson’s response was characteristically blunt: “Some people felt like, I deserve to be in the arena. And I’m like, well, buy the ticket then. That’s not Tate’s fault. You know what I mean?”

Praise for Tate McRae
Despite the fan discourse, Larsson had nothing but praise for McRae and her team. She credited the tour with giving her a fresh perspective on the “Greedy” singer’s dedication to her craft.
“For me, this was an amazing opportunity,” Larsson shared. “She is incredible. And also, being on that tour, I personally have so much respect for the way she works and how hard she works and the fact that everyone was so lovely. I think that says a lot about the artist, because I definitely do think it trickles down.”
