Gracie Abrams shares advice Taylor Swift gave her: ‘Never stop writing’

Gracie Abrams is opening up about a piece of advice from Taylor Swift that’s stayed with her ever since their time on the Eras Tour—and it’s as simple as it is powerful.

The singer-songwriter, who opened for Taylor from 2023 through 2024, recently reflected on the experience during an interview with CBS Sunday Morning. When asked if Taylor ever shared career guidance, Gracie didn’t hesitate.

“The first thing that comes to mind… is the encouragement to just never stop writing,” she said. “Any time I had a feeling where I was like, ‘I would rather just cry about this for a while,’ instead—just pick it up and write it down. And it serves you every time.”

It’s advice that clearly stuck.

Now, Gracie is stepping into her own spotlight, gearing up for her Look at My Life Tour, which kicks off this December in Denver, Colorado—with arenas already selling out.

Despite her growing success, she says the connection with fans is what matters most.

“It just doesn’t feel like it’s remotely about me,” she shared. “Even though they might be my words, they’ve adopted them and made them their own.”

Gracie is currently promoting her third studio album, Daughter from Hell, a deeply personal project that highlights her evolution as both a writer and performer.

One standout moment? The title track, which she dedicated to her mother, producer Katie McGrath.

“I sent it to my mom and said, ‘Sorry it took me 26 years to write one that wasn’t laced with angsty anger,’” she joked. “Now I’m like, ‘I want to be you, Mom!’”

With the lead single Hit the Wall already generating buzz, Daughter from Hell is set to drop this Friday—marking yet another major chapter in Gracie Abrams’ rising career.
