The Pussycat Dolls made an explosive return to the American Music Awards stage on Monday, May 25, 2026, delivering a high-octane reunion performance. Taking over the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the trio celebrated two decades since their 2006 AMAs debut with a nostalgic, hit-filled medley.
A Nostalgic Medley Lights Up Las Vegas
The “Don’t Cha” hitmakers officially reunited earlier this year. Original members Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, and Kimberly Wyatt are back in the fold, stepping out in coordinated looks that set the stage on fire.
Nicole kicked things off by telling the roaring crowd to “make some noise” as the group launched into their 2006 smash single, “Buttons”. They then transitioned into their brand-new track, “Club Song”, before welcoming hip-hop legends Spliff Star and Busta Rhymes to the stage. The arena erupted as they closed the iconic medley with their defining hit, “Don’t Cha”.
As the applause poured in, an emotional Nicole shouted to the audience, “We love you!”
Bringing a “Light of Hope” to the Stage
Speaking with PEOPLE Magazine just days before the event, Nicole revealed she wanted the group’s AMA appearance to stand for something deeper.
“It’s incredible,” Nicole shared. “I believe it might have been our first time performing [in] 2006, and it’s crazy that the time flies so much to think that it’s 20 years later.”
She also praised their longtime collaborator, adding:
“Busta [Rhymes] is a legend. We love him. I actually just did a couple shows with him over the weekend overseas, and to be reunited with him, to be on the same stage with him, is always an honour.”
Reflecting on the group’s current era, Scherzinger noted how meaningful it is to perform together now:
“And then, to be with my girls in this new iteration, the women we are now in this stage of our lives, and hopefully being a light of hope, joy, and empowerment now to everyone is important for us because we need it now more than ever. We’re here to serve that up for them.”
Navigating Tour Cancellations and Looking Ahead
The celebratory AMAs performance provides a massive boost for the group following a difficult month. Last month, the trio made the “heart-breaking decision” to cancel all but one of their North American PCD FOREVER Tour dates due to poor ticket sales.
In an official statement to their fans, the group explained:
“When we announced the PCD FOREVER Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world. After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates.”
Despite the setback, West Coast fans will still get their chance to see the Dolls live. The group confirmed that their highly anticipated performance at WeHo Pride in Los Angeles is still moving forward on June 6, 2026.
“We could not think of a more meaningful place to celebrate with our fans,” the group stated. “The LGBTQ+ community has shown us so much love and support throughout our career, and we’re honored to be part of a weekend rooted in joy, pride, music, and chosen family.”
